In 1884, Pope Leo XIII instituted the practice of reciting the Prayer of St. Michael at the conclusion of Mass, seeking his powerful intercession in defense of the independence of the Holy See.
Now, over 130 years later, we at Wyoming Catholic College call upon St. Michael once again, and once again ask his intercession in preserving the independence of an institution striving to be faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Faith.
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
And do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
By the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
And all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
Seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
