Arriving in Lander in the early afternoon after driving from the Chancery in Cheyenne, Bishop Etienne visited with the College's staff and administrative personnel, toured the College's interim campus locations, and surveyed the Broken Anvil Ranch (site of the College's
future campus).
Later that afternoon, the faculty and students of Wyoming Catholic
had the chance to meet Bishop Etienne for the first time at an informal gathering in the Coffee Shop in Frassati Hall. For well over an hour, the bishop mingled with the students, asking their names and home state, inquiring about what had drawn each of them to WCC, and what their experiences had been like thus far.

The bishop enjoyed an impromptu performance of an Irish ballad by a group of freshmen boys, and received a WCC jacket for warmth during the many hours of travel he will undertake for the Catholics of Wyoming. After expressing his appreciation for the opportunity to visit, as well as his hopes that there would be many more visits in the future, Bishop Etienne was whisked away to dinner with members of the College's faculty, hosted by WCC Board Member
David Kellogg.
The College community was glad to finally meet "our bishop," and for the chance to introduce him to the extraordinary place that is Wyoming Catholic College. We look forward to sharing our unique vision with Bishop Etienne, and to working with him to make this vision a reality. (February 3, 2010)
