Tuition and fees.
The total cost of tuition, room, and board at Wyoming Catholic College for the 2008–2009 and 2009–2010 school years is
$19,500 ($14,500 for tuition and $5,000 for room and board). After the student is accepted into the College, a Commitment of Attendance, accompanied by a $250 nonrefundable deposit, must be made in order to reserve a place in the freshmen class. The deposit is credited against tuition.
Other Required Expenses:
BOOKS. For each academic year, the student will pay
$650 for the books, reading packets, and handouts used by the College.
EQUIPMENT. There is one additional expense for freshman year: the personal equipment and clothing required by NOLS for the Orientation Program that takes place in August and in January. The total cost of the must-purchase items for both trips is approximately
$1,100. (Having this equipment and clothing also facilitates participation in the outdoor adventures that are encouraged as part of the students’ whole way of life at WCC.) A detailed equipment list will be mailed to accepted students, accompanied by instructions on how, where, and when the gear may be obtained. Please note that all of the equipment and clothing may be conveniently obtained at the NOLS Rocky Mountain outfitting shop in Lander prior to the August and January departure dates.
All students receiving financial aid must contribute something each year from summer employment. Because the August backpacking trip shortens the summer prior to matriculation, the specified contribution for freshman year is $1,750, which covers exactly the cost of the books and outdoor equipment. In subsequent years, with August available for working, the student must contribute towards tuition, room, and board a minimum of $2,000 from summer employment.
TOTAL COST for Freshman year $21,250
TOTAL COST for Sophomore, Junior,
and Senior years $20,150
POCKET MONEY: Students will, of course, need some additional funds to cover such personal expenses as toiletries, entertainment, pocket money, etc.
Special Note: Medical insurance must be held or obtained by each student prior to his or her arrival at the College for the Freshman Orientation Program. Both WCC and NOLS require the student to have medical insurance as a condition of enrollment.
Refunds: If a student withdraws from the College before the end of either semester, tuition, room, and board will be prorated on a per diem basis and refunds will be determined accordingly. The per diem prorated amount is granted only if the student withdraws before the seventh week of the semester has passed. After that no funds will be returned. WCC reserves the right to make other arrangements according to its discretion.
