Yes, by all means! We are truly delighted to receive applications from homeschooled students. As a matter of fact, many of our faculty and staff were themselves homeschooled and/or are now homeschooling their own children.
Do I need my high school transcripts to apply?
Yes, a high school transcript is an important indicator of your capabilities as a student. If high school studies were completed through formal homeschooling, you should send the College an official transcript of the program. If parents or other individuals crafted the homeschooling curriculum, a detailed account of subjects studied and books read should accompany an evaluation of the applicant's performance in specific areas. A personal or conference telephone interview is also required. Generally, applicants must provide evidence that their home-schooling program is equivalent to a college preparatory course.

Yes; either test is accepted.
Do I need to take an entrance exam?
Not an entrance exam administered by WCC; for that purpose, we use the SAT and ACT tests.

We strongly urge students to participate in a cardio-vascular exercise program (at least one hour, three times a week) for a reasonable length of time (8 to 12 weeks) prior to the wilderness experience.
Do you have an intercollegiate athletics program?
No, but WCC does have intramural activities throughout the year.
Are there opportunities for physical fitness training?
The local community swimming pool and a well-equipped fitness center (both of them marked on the map of Lander available on this website) may be used free of charge.
Can I apply for college if I have a GED?
Yes, but an interview is required in order to assess if you are prepared for the challenging curriculum at WCC.
Is the College accredited to grant degrees?
WCC is currently working with the American Academy for Liberal Education (AALE) in Washington, D.C., to achieve accreditation in a timely manner. WCC has already met with AALE representatives and has applied for preaccreditation status. There is every reason to believe that full accreditation will proceed smoothly and will be achieved well in advance of the graduation of the first class in 2011. Accreditation, once received, is in any case retroactive to anyone who may have graduated prior to a college becoming accredited. WCC is also involved in discussions on accreditation with another accrediting organization and will, in any case, assiduously pursue all due requirements in order to achieve accreditation in a timely manner.
Can people who are not enrolled as full-time students take or sit in on WCC courses?
No. Due to the tightly integrated curriculum, the small student-teacher ratio, and the limited space at the campus, courses are open only to those students who are enrolled full-time and who intend to remain for the entire four-year B.A. program. The one exception to this is a prospective students who visits the College as part of the application process. Such visitors are welcome to experience our classes while here.
Will there be any college offerings available to the public?
Yes. We will extend to the surrounding community an open invitation to a number of WCC events such as our Guest Lecture Series that will bring in prestigious speakers from around the country, our collegiate liturgies at Holy Rosary Church, and musical performances. It is also our intention to offer summertime courses on the Catholic faith and other subjects of interest to the public.
